There are many different methods used to construct shoes these days. In our opinion, the best and the most traditional methods of footwear construction is Goodyear welted, the method and machinery for this process was invented by a gentleman called Charles Goodyear Jnr, the Welt is the strip of Leather (sometimes a synthetic Welt is used) which runs around the outside edge of the shoe, this is then stitch through and attached to the upper and the insole, this is a great manufacturing method as the sole can be easily replaced and a new one stitched on without altering the shape of the upper. This means your favourite shoes will be able to keep on going!
